|Welcome to the website of the Historic Westheight Neighborhood Association. We are a nonprofit volunteer organization established to improve life in Kansas City's Historic Westheight Neighborhood.
We meet the second Tuesday of even-numbered months at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall of St. Paul's Episcopal Church on the corner of 18th Street and Washington Avenue.
All Westheight residents and interested community members are encouraged to attend.

Information about Trash Disposal and Household Hazardous Waste. The last date for disposal of Household Hazardous Waste in 2013 was on October 15. The next date, in 2014, will be the third Saturday in April - April 19, 2014.

Events of Note for November
As of Tuesday, October 1, Wyandotte County residents can take their yard waste to the Unified Government Recycling Center at 3241 Park Drive and drop it off for free. All thatís required is proof of residency in Wyandotte County. Something as simple as a driverís license will work. The Recycling Center is open Mondays 8am-1pm; Tuesdays 11am-4pm; Thursdays 8am-1pm; Fridays 11am to 1pm; Saturdays 8am to 1pm; Sundays 11am to 4pm. The center is closed on Wednesdays.
May 8, 2013: Forbes Magazine, just published its list of "Great BBQ Joints Across America", in an article by Larry Olmsted. Topping that list (and, as the article noted, there are so many great ones) was Oklahoma Joe's BBQ, in the Village West Shopping Center in western Kansas City, KS. The writer said of Oklahoma Joe's, "There may be no better BBQ joint in the nation."
