Halloween Party

The third annual Halloween Parade and party will be held on Wednesday, October 30th. Children and parents should gather in the triangle park (between 22nd, Washington Blvd. and Washinton Ave.) at 5:30.

Please note: the parade will be starting at 5:30, not 6:00 p.m. as previously indicated!

We'll parade down to 2009 Washington Avenue, where there will be games, a good-hearted costume contest, and treats for everyone. All neighborhood children, ages 11 and younger are welcome to participate.

After the party, the children will be heading out to trick-or-treat this night, please leave your porch lights on so parents can send their ghosts and ghouls to your door!

We still need volunteers to help with the costume contest...please call Kim Hannigan at 371-7065 immediately if you can help us out.

Help make Westheight a better place to live
Become a HWNA Officer or Board Member

The Historic Westheight Neighborhood Association is one of the most active neighborhood associations in the region, with three children's events each year, numerous beautification projects, a picnic, and a holiday homes tour - plus much more.
All of those activities are driven by the energy of our dozens of volunteers. and at the center of that energy is the HWNA board of directors and our officers.
The board provides the direction vital to our efforts and ensures that our group continues to keep the neighborhood a great place to live.

If you have ideas about how we can improve Westheight and if you are willing to work to make our neighborhood better, we need you on the board.

Board members are nominated at our October meeting and elected at our November meeting. Any member can nominate someone for office. (Yes, you can nominate yourself.)
At our Nov. 5 meeting, we will elect the following: President-elect (who becomes president Jan. 1, 2004), treasurer, secretary, and two at-large board members. They begin their terms on Jan. 1, 2003.
Treasurer and secretary serve one-year terms. Board members serve two-year terms. The president's office is a three-year commitment, serving on the board one year as president-elect, one year as president, and one year as past-president.
If you're interested in running for any of these offices, come to the October meeting or contact Wayne Walden (371-2828) or Donald Caswell (321-7305).

In order to vote in the November HWNA elections (or hold office), you must have your 2002 dues ($5) paid by Oct. 8.

Pay your dues at the October meeting or contact our treasurer, Rick Yarnell - 2424 Nebraska Court - 371-2648.
